Title: Need Help -MC not working
Post by: iCamp on April 22, 2003, 01:23:32 pm
Downloaded version 156 last night.  Everything seemed very normal.  This morning I loaded it and tried to change the library to my iPod library.  When I did so it crashed.

Now MC won't even load.  It starts to load and then crashes.  I uninstalled and reinstalled twice (the second time being a total uninstall).  I'm at a loss.

I'd love to entertain your suggestions.  I can't live without MC!!  :)

I'd post my system info but I can't get into MC to see it.

Try rebooting.

Try running setupcomplete.exe in the MC program directory.

Ok...trying that now.  I'll report back momentarily.

No luck.  I'm confused.
What is setupcomplete.exe supposed to do?  It flashed a small window on the screen for a milisecond.  I rebooted and tried running MC again.  Same crash.

The only change I've made to my system has been the installation of AvantGo for my PDA.  I don't think that would conflict with MC.

What next?   ?

there's another report of this in the v.156 bug thread--I don't remember whether it's the same user.

I had the same problem with v.156--tried all the usual uninstall, delete registry entries, etc--all to no avail. Tried more than once.

Reinstalled v.155--all working beautifully. Looking forward to v.157. Ah--there it is now . . . .

[Follow-up: v.157 installed over v155, and everything working again]

I did two things:

1.  Downloaded 157 (good timing!)

2.  Changed the install directory

Now it appears to be working.  Whew!  I got scared for a second.   :D
