Title: Windows XP burner problems
Post by: yogibear on August 20, 2003, 12:10:26 pm
I'm running the latest version of MJ on a Sony Vaio machine with Windows XP which is current with all updates and patches.  Prior to installing MJ, I was able to burn data to CDs and CDRWs. I successfully installed MJ and have applied all patches.  MJ is able to burn music CDs without a problem.  However, when I attempt to burn data to a CD using Windows Explorer, I get an error in the CD Writing Wizard that says, "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a writable disk into the drive."  even though I do have a writable disk in the drive.

Here's what I've tried to resolve the problem:
-applied all Windows XP patches and updates
-applied all MJ updates
-installed ASPI 4.7
-verified that "Enable CD Recording" was checked on the CD drive properties
-verified that the IMAPI CD-Burning COM service was enabled

Still no luck.  Hope you can help!

Well, things seem to be working now, so no need to reply.

;D

was going to tell you to do this

"Enable CD Recording"

on the CD drive properties

but you already did that.  if you did not reboot afterwards and just tryied to burn that is why it did not work you  need to reboot just about everytime you make a change on these winXp computers. :(

but that is what was the trouble.   8)
