Post by: rudyard on July 25, 2020, 03:38:29 pm
How beautifull it works, totally happy with both of them. 16/44 khz stereo from qobuz, into jriver and then in my surround pre-amp. All channels stereo or thx music 5.1/7.1. Very nice sound indeed.

Are you streaming multichannel files from QOBUZ?  Can you provide more details?

what is the procedure you use to get Qobuz into JRiver.

I have MC26.0.101 PC. I can't see Qobuz on streaming in JRiver. How to do?

Yeah but the QOBUZ app will not output multichannel in my experience.

kr4,
So Qobuz has multi-channel content?

If so, can you play it?  How?

The WDM Driver is just an audio driver, like any other Windows audio driver.

I set the WDM driver up for 5.1 because that's what I have.  It works great.

I have to use "Open Live"?

Via Roon.  ::)

Are you playing 5.0/5.1 content from QOBUZ or are you upmixing?

In my experience, QOBUZ, itself, will not play its own MCH files although it displays them.  Click and play..............and you get stereo.

Hi Rodericki

somehow my config is in a way I do not see in win7 sound "Spekaers JRiver Media Center"

I must say I remember I have seen it before (older Installation od MC26 on the same Win7 Machine).

I see in win7 Sound:

Speakers Realtek
Spekaers VIA Hig def
Speakers RME UFX (my DAC)

but not Spekers JRiver MC

WDM driver is enabled.

How I can hear to Windowssound (i.e. youtube etc.) is by JRiver "Open Live" and configuring WASAPI Loopback

Obviously there is another way as well as is mentioned.

May be the fiorst things is how to geht Speakers JRvier Mdei Center into Win7 Sound Panel?

I found the answer, sorry it was in the WDM description I see it now:

Trick was:

Problems

If JRiver doesn't show up as a Windows Device in Control Panel > Sounds > Playback, try disabling it in MC General > Features. Quit MC and re-enable it.

If it's still not showing up after doing that, there's a chance you might also have to close MC completely then run MC as an administrator then re-enable the WDM driver feature for it to show up.

From there you use the app you want to use the WDM driver with (e.g. a Qobuz or Tidal app) then set it to use MC's WDM driver as the audio output. When you play music in those apps the music will be piped through MC's audio engine and output from there.

But there's the rub.  I do not know of anyone who has been able to get the Qobuz app to play multichannel.  ::)

Hi guys, sorry that i wasnt clear enough about it, qobuz stereo 16/44 via asio in jriver. The strange thing is jriver converts it to wasapi then out to my multi channel receiver who then turns it in multi channel stereo or dts, dolby digital. Its the receiver who then turns it in mult-channel. Must say that i tried spotify and wdm driver and it works the same. Sorry guys, if i am not clear enough. Wish you all the best.
