Title: TV channel scanning
Post by: gkerber on April 19, 2003, 10:30:28 am
v9 - I have a Hauppauge TV card.  Works great with their software.

In v9, when I tell it to scan channels, it gets to ch14 and then locks up and stops responding and I have to kill the program.

How long did you have to wait? Maybe if you waited a little longer it would have returned OK.

Good thought, so I tried it again, locked up at channel 14 as usual, 5 minutes still locked, I killed it.

I am sure you are just teasing, King. Normally it does not need more than 5 minutes. I made the suggestion only because someone had experienced apparant freezing while scanning, only turned out to be fine after waited long enough.

Yes, I was using the latest version of MC.

It flies from 2 to channel 14 and totally locks up the program.

I have to kill the task to clear the problem so I can restart MC.

This is not a big deal to me at all, I'll never use MC to play my TV card, but I was playing around with it and found this bug or incompatability with my Hauppauge TV card.
