Title: File Association Problem
Post by: mftorso on August 01, 2020, 05:59:12 pm
Happy user of the latest version of JRiver 25. Got 26 installed in prep of 27 which I bought and am waiting for.
26 took over many files of my C drive.

My professional audio workstation apps are forced to use JRiver when they open even though it's not selected in the audio control panel. It labeled various audio files as JRiver media center files when, in fact, they're wav files destined for use in the DAW. Uninstalled 26 and am left with an aftermath of this mess.

No such thing ever occurred with 25.

MC settings let you specify which files to import or play.

Oh good. Thank you both. Got it.

My big mistake was installing 26 incorrectly. It overruled all preferences I had setup for 25.
I've now uninstalled 25 but everything needs to be redone.

Wouldn't it be more common when installing a new version that previous preferences are retained?

Or I disregarded something upon installing that would've kept my 25 pref's.
