Title: QNAP install of HybridDesk Station & MediaCenter
Post by: wfs on August 24, 2020, 10:07:49 am
Looked at the various forums to see where to post, so my apologies if this is an incorrect forum.

I want to install MC on QNAP NAS. I found these instructions https://download.qnap.com/QPKG/GUIDE/Jriver_ENG.pdf. I have the latest HybridDeskStation installed; however, there is no MediaCenter option available showing for the install.

Based on some Google searches it appears as though I might have to go back to older version(s) of HDStation. I was also able to find some QPKG files for older versions of MediCenter and HDStationbut I received inconsistent version information from HDStation when I attempted to install.

So, is there a way to get MediaCenter working on current QNAP software?  I'm running QTS 4.4.3.1400 and HDStation 4.0.10

Please try a search.  We don't support QNAP.

you could try the Linux version of MC there should be a 30 day free trial. I gave up on using a nas to run MC years ago....

Which you have to run in a Docker container. There's no way to directly install MC for Linux on any NAS.

Yes you have to use Container Station and grab one of the images from Docker Hub.

This thread is a good start point.

Interestingly QNAP recently dropped support their Plex App as well.
