Title: While work is being done on the VST subsystem…
Post by: pluto on September 11, 2020, 09:47:01 pm
I'm sure this has been discussed before but – would it be a good idea for an option to enable a plug-in to be defined as “listen only” (or words to that effect) so that its presence in the audio path does not cause the loss of the Audio Path Direct indication?

I notice that your Analyzer works this way; it would be nice if the same ‘courtesy’ was available to third party plug-ins that do not change the incoming signal.

Thanks.

While we are at it:

- Allow loading/deleting more than one plugin at a time
- Let them scale
- Allow display of more than one plugin

Thank you for reading!

I really would appreciate it if someone from the dev. team could answer simply:
Thank you.

It's too soon to say where this goes.  We're still working on plug-ins that don't work.  Dirac is at the top of the list, for example.

Thanks; as long as it has been noticed somewhere and not merely forgotten before work moves away from the plug-in department onto other matters.

The concept is much like insert points on consoles – any device connected to the insert point listens to the signal fed to it but a further connection has to be made for the output of that device to get re-inserted back into the signal path.
