Title: Is the Handheld plug-in meant to work with MC ?
Post by: retrospek on April 11, 2003, 12:19:28 pm
Hi,

I've recently started trying to use MC to copy music to my IPAQ handheld.

However, I've had a few problems/questions and would like to know if anyone has got it to work.

1) How do you specify where to place the files on the handheld ?  It seems to want to place them on the Main Memory - which doesn't make any sense.  Can't we specify a directory on the storage card ??

2) If I try and delete a directory on the handheld it says it can't because the directory is not empty.  If I then delete everything in the directory and try to delete the directory again - it says it can't because the directory is not empty (Don't know why)

3) If I select a bunch of music files on the handheld to delete it starts the process and then MC crashes.

Is anyone else using a handheld with MC and having these problems ??

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

Have you donwnloaded the iPaq plugin from ...

http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/mcplugins.pl?type=8

Have you tried dragging and dropping the files on the appropriate memory type (after expanding the tree under the iPaq icon) or are you using "Send-To" If you are using "Send-to", after you drop a file where you want it, Send-To will remember the last location.

What type of iPaq do you have?

Does it show up as a drive?

If you remove the memory stick and place it in a memory stick reader, it will.
