Title: Is there a field in JRiver that identifies video files that are encoded in H.264
Post by: majicire on September 20, 2020, 08:28:52 pm
Hello friends,

I've been attempting to do some library management of some old video files, and it would be helpful if there was a way to distinguish between files encoded as legacy H.264 and others that were encoded using H.265 HVEC.  Does JRiver have this capability?  I looked through the field list and nothing stood out.  I tried the "Encoding Settings" field but it was blank for all files.  Do I have to manually input this at the time the file is created?  Is there a way to automatically detect how a file was encoded?

Many thanks in advance for the expertise of this forum.
