Post by: the shiz on October 09, 2020, 08:26:09 pm
Ever since upgrading to JRiver 27 Ive been getting stuttering with sound when playing in live mode. Even when I try to use JRiver 26.. Didnt have this problem before upgrading.. anyone have any input on how to stop it? Im using WASAPI.. It doesnt seem to do it with ASIO.. but want to use WASAPI.

Antivirus software is a common reason for that.

Make sure you're using the most recent build of MC from this board.

Checked antivirus. No change. MC 26 was working fine and not sure how antivirus would only effect live sound.

What do you mean by "live" sound?

This might actually be a Windows update problem instead of MC26 vs MC27

What type of output are you using?
I've found that recently SPDIF output is a bit messed up - the default 100 ms audio device buffer which worked for everything before can cause weird stuttering, distortion and echoing now. Realtek ALC1220 and ALC892 audio chips are differently affected, but both are affected. For example the ALC1220 now requires different buffer timings for 88.2 KHz compared to the other sample rates.
