Title: Printing catalog
Post by: alexppg on October 21, 2020, 07:51:21 am
Is there a way to print my library?

When I used to manage my library with iTunes I liked the fact that I was able to output to something like the attached.

Copy and paste from any view to a spreadsheet.

You have to select what you want first.  Then Ctrl-C to copy.

Then open a spreadsheet and paste with Ctrl-V .

So I want to print a list of all my Artist folders. I go to the Audio menu, select All Artists. Control C does not work. If I highlight all the folders and attempt copy, it tries to copy all the content in addition to the names. All I want is the text. The point of all this is to eliminate duplicates and especially purge mp3 versions of files I have flac files for. I tried the search for possible duplicates routine, I will run it again without specifying file size as a criteria, use only file name

You need a view with details.  Then select some just to try it.  You can select just the columns you want.

Selecting the thumbnails may not work for this.

Thanks for the responses. Related question- does MC automatically save an mp3 copy to my library when I do something like sync a portable mp3 player from the library files? i try to keep my library with only flac files, but nearly every folder has over time ended up with mp3 and flac versions of every song. If MC does this, is there a workaround or setting to prevent it?

In options, you can tell MC whether to cache files when it converts.
