Title: freeze during c.d. lookup

for 3 straight times MC froze during the "Gathering information & updating view" box is up.  after I Cntr-Alt-Del there is the error messege of MC caused an error in playbackeng.dll.  Any info?

I've reinstalled the program and reboot: problem now only occurs if I'm not on the Internet and the program is looking for the Database.  I've taken off the auto lookup.  That solved the problem, but I didn't have that prob before.
