Title: VST support?
Post by: ppataki on October 28, 2020, 09:17:08 am
Can you please clarify if VST plugins are supported in the Linux version?
Thank you

Yes with conditions.
VST plugins are binaries. They need to be compiled for the target system. You can't use a windows VST plugin on linux unless the author has provided a linux one.
Also note that linux MC does not support VST3 plugins yet (and I don't know that there are any VST3 linux plugins).
Here is one you can try out yourself, I just did the 64 bit linux one on MC27 and it works:

Actually there are many of them, just few:

Thanks for adding VST3.

I can say that AuburnSounds plugins work fine. They use their own D based framework - Dplug.
But all JUCE-based and VST3SDK-based plugins don't show the GUI.

Do they work in windows?

I noticed that Superflydsp.com is planning to make ARM Raspberry Pi compatible VST plugins. I have transitioned almost completely from IdPi to Linux ARM versions of MC and would hope you will include VST ARM support at some point. Hopefully other VST makers will follow with ARM plugins eventually.

Yep. I tested with https://superflydsp.com/ and https://github.com/ryukau/VSTPlugins/releases/tag/SevenDelay0.1.14

I tried the FlyingDelay.vst3 plugin but it's asking for a newer version of glibc (2.29) than exists on buster (2.28)
