When running Media Server, Im seeing a footprint of over 33 Megs (MC Ver 9.0.149)
This is pretty HUGE
-
It starts around 8MB, but if you're converting files on the fly, that would add quite a lot. It puts a fairly heavy load on the machine.
Can you watch it and see what it's doing?
-
Actually, this is STARTUP Mem Usage ... Its doing NOTHING ... Noone is connected ...
I have ~ 25K files in my library, nothing huge ;)
I tested a smaller library .. no luck ..
MS version 10161, protocol version 0.9
-
OK .. did some more testing ... Looks like some ugly buffer isnt clearing out ..
Test #1 - Open MS with tiny library = 5Meg footprint
Test #2 - Load BIG library = 34Meg footprint (note, didnt close MS)
Test #3 - Close and reopen MS = Same 34Meg Footprint
Test #4 - Load tiny library = random results, sometimes 5M, sometime 37-39Meg
Sometimes, If I open MS with a tiny library and load a big one, only AFTER I minimize does the mem usage go back down (and it goes down to 860k) ... again, this is ~sometimes~ ... Just seems like the operation to create the .ZIP file or something in the background isnt flushing from mem correctly ...

I'm working on this.
