Title: Still no "LOCATION" as column!?!

I remember having requested this already in beta-stage of MJ8!

Is it really so hard to add this??
All I want is a separate column showing only the name of the MP3-CD, without the whole path as in "FILENAME"!

Why is it already possible for view shemes since MJ8, but still not possible as column even in MC9?

Really hope you can add this one, since it's a really easy thing.

Maybe you didn't ask nice enough, that's why it didn't get done. >:(

But I would also like a column with the filename without the path, since the path is always so long. Sometimes you just need to see the filename to make sure the name is good, especially when newly importing files.

answered in anyother thread, i asked too  ;D. Make a new colum using filename then u can choose a base directory.  ::)

Would still be soooo much nicer if there were seperate columns for: filename & folder.  The path can be HUGE and when I already have my filenames made by: Artist - Album - Track # - Name it means this field has to be HUGE just for me to see the filename.

I just want a field wide enough to see the filename, not the whole path. :(

He's talking about making a View Scheme.

You can't create a column for Location.

By the way, Topas, I really requested this one very polite in the beginning, but now I'm waiting for this almost a year, I guess other people would also love to see this helping to improve the catalogizing functionality of MJ/MC.

I really don't understand what's the problem with adding this one?!

But I haven't give up hope yet ;D

I'm on board with you guys, but it won't be in MC 9.0 -- it's a bigger change than you'd think.

Fancy fields (calculated, based on a piece of another field, etc.) may get added in a future version.

Just a question: This shouldn't be a fancy field; I guess, it is somewhere already defined in MC, because you can use "Location" as View-sheme, so it must be coded already, just need the possibility to use this variable as column.

Still not possible for 9.0? Remember that I already asked for that one in beta-stage of 8.0?

Thanks anyway for that nice proggy, but it would be really much better offering that particular column, no other fields for now!?

It's too late now.  We're finishing a few things we've started and fixing bugs.
