Title: Radio stream makes MC27 frozen
Post by: rafa on November 24, 2020, 04:40:24 pm
I had two radio stations added as URL stream and was working with MC25. Since upgrade to MC27 one stream never opens and gets MC frozen and second opens but very slow.
I can open MC25 and both streams working straight away without any delay.

I tested on my second PC with MC27 and is exactly same problem with URL/streams. Same streams works perfect on older versions.

Could you share the URLs?  Thanks.

I hope programmers working on it..

Considering this is a holiday weekend in the US, I wouldn't count on it being looked into until next week, hopefully.

Not very helpful, I know, but...

Using MC27, both your links open instantly for me. I opened the first by clicking on it and telling firefox to open with MC27, and the second by copying, and using the File > Open URL option in MC27.

When problems are not easily replicated by others, it often suggests that the issues are more specific to you and your setup/usage scenario, so, thoughts...

Apologies, but that's all I can think of atm. :)

  • Are they using tokens and maybe yours are expired. Did you try removing the links from your library and re-adding them?
  • Could they be restricting you via IP address? (Unlikely as you state that the links are OK from within MC 25)
  • Is anything else running on your network that might be hogging all your bandwidth?

Thanks Marko

As you noticed I stated that I can switch between MC25 and MC27 and links works immediately on MC25 always and MC27 gets frozen or opens very slow after about 30 seconds.
So definitely NO is the answer to all your questions. My home network is mostly based on cable connections, I have very modern highend router/switch and Internet connection 240Mbps
There is no bottleneck in the infrastructure.

No tokens for radio station also as I am listening that station all the time on MC25.

Take a look at the Windows Defender thread here.

I just tried both URLs with File > Open URL... and both opened perfectly with the latest MC27.  So make sure you're up to date and then work on anything that might be blocking MC (firewall, anti-virus, etc.).

I just update to newest ver.43 and swithcing between radio stations is much faster without freezing JRiver. So something was incorrect in JRiver code ;)
