Title: Digital room correction info

I have been using another media center for years and I was thinking of buying JRiver to use digital room correction in particular.
I do not find information or manuals to understand how it works.
Where can I find some explanation on how it works?
In addition to purchasing JRiver and a suitable microphone, do I need other paid software?

Yes, you do need additional software but not necessarily paid.  REW is a good option.

Room correction, in it's basic form, is usable without any third party software. Of course there are 3rd party utilities that can be used to aid in calibration among other things.

Downloading the program and taking advantage of the full featured 30 day trial is your best bet to test drive.
