Title: can't play

this is a strange recent development.  i can no longer  play mp3 files.  when i press play, nothing happens, it is stuck at time 0:00.  i can play avi movies but there is no sound.  in fact, there seems to be no sound at all coming from my computer.  any idea what the problem might be?  faulty sound card?

make sure MC is using the right sound driver in playback options. Maybe reinstall the driver.

I had this problem with the kX drivers. Found out it wasn't set to the right output device. No sound, nothing moved.

You can also try switch playback options from wave out to direct sound or vice versa.

i installed the latest version of media center and restarted the computer and everything seems to be working now.  thanks for the advice.  hopefully this was a one-time glitch.
