Happy new year, all!
Say we have the following scenario:
MediaServer A of User X has a few zones and some files.
Mediaserver B of User Y has a few zones and some files.
Both users have exchanged access keys and readonly user accounts
It is obviously possible for user X to query files on Server B using MCWS. But can they somehow use MCWS to start playing files from Server B on server A without switching media libraries?

Sure. With Panel (https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Panel) (or JRemote, I suppose).

What you actually want is use a Client A (on same location as Server A) connected to Server B to play its files. This client can be another MC instance, Panel, JRemote, or any other MC client.
Server A and Server B should keep running independently of that client. You can have multiple instances of MC running on the same machine (one as Server, another as Client), but it's easier to have a dedicated machine for the Server and run MC as a client on a different PC. You can then connect that Client to A or B as needed.
Playing a mixed playlist of files from both Server A and B is not possible at this time (perhaps it can be done with online shared media?)
