Title: How to make periodic playlist backups
Post by: R32NJ on January 16, 2021, 04:02:00 pm
I keep accidentally overwriting my current active playlist with an inadvertent click in JRemote.  Today I tried streaming for the first time (works great BTW) but then the playlist overwrote my now playing again.

When I got to playlists/recent in JRemote I see 3 options from today (the three different streaming channels I tried) but my earlier playlist from today is gone.

I would like to perhaps do a nightly backup of my now playing if possible.

Back up your library. it will back up your playlists.

My library backs up automatically already but I don't see where I can extract just my NOW PLAYING playlist from it.  I would like something automated where my NOW PLAYING is backed up to a file I can reload by itself if necessary.

If you are wanting to save the currently Playing Now as a playlist, I know two ways to do this.

1) In Standard View, highlight all the tracks you want, right click, Send To>Playlist>Create Playlist.

2) In Theater View, Playing Now>List>save as playlist.

As an aside, it would be nice if Media Center used a different player for streaming and thus kept in tact the playlist you were listening to before on "Player"..

Thanks.  I am hoping to automate this as a nightly backup so I can always go back to the previous day playlist (for 2-3 days perhaps).

I like your suggestion about a different "streaming playlist" as well.  Perhaps the JRiver developers will consider this for the future.
