I recently revived my Marantz SR-7007 and I set up it’s DLNA as a zone in MC27 which is running in Docker on my NAS. I configured the DLNA as Audiophile DAC 24 bit and all works well. In DSP studio for this zone I can set an equalizer. Now here is my question:
I play both modern and classical music so I’d like to be able to use different equalizer settings for classical and modern. What is the best way to switch equalizers for this zone?

I don't see a way to do that.
I think you'd need to create a second zone and create a zoneswitch rule.
If you are pushing the material to your Marantz, it should just work.

Does the per-track DSP Preset feature work for DLNA DSP? I've never tried it in conjunction with DLNA.

You save a DSP Preset with a name, and then you paste that exact name into the [DSP] field for a file. I don't mean an Equalizer Preset, I mean a DSP Preset.
When a file is played, the field is read, and the matching preset is applied.
Unfortunately that preset applies to all the dsp studio modules and sticks until another one is applied. Which means you have to tag every file in your library, and it breaks things like output format, room correction and convolution, and you lose any DSP changes not saved to a preset, etc etc etc.

I'd be surprised if that worked with DLNA but I'll have Matt check into it. Thanks.

Thank you all for your help. This is, of course, something I didn't know and very helpful. I'll try that out and it would be amazing if it worked. Otherwise, I thought to create two different DSP presets with the only difference being the equalizer setting and then switch manually every time I switch genre. I can probably do with one setting for all "modern" music.

That's exactly what you'd have to do, you understand. You can't just switch equalizer presets, you have to switch presets for the entire DSP engine; so the whole state will be included: output format, convolution, effects, room correction, everything. It has lots of drawbacks, so I don't recommend it, and honestly I don't know if it works with DSP for DLNA at all. But give it a try and let us know if anything happens.

Thanks wer, I really appreciate your insight. I do understand I have to duplicate the entire DSP preset and set up the [DSP] tag which is easy enough. What I don't understand is what the drawbacks are. I am a complete noob when it comes to electronic audio stuff and DSP etc. I had my SR-7007 and 5 RSL speakers with subwoofer in the basement so I thought I give it a try. In my previous house I wasn't using MC so was only using the fake built in Marantz stuff. Now I am just trying to see what I can do with MC. Setting up the zone was not too much hassle either and after a few mistakes I got it to work. It's a bit surprising to me that switching equalizer settings isn't easier. Wouldn't one want to do that on the fly all the time for different types of music played?
I'll play around with the DSP presets, hopefully I'll be able to hear the difference if it works.

As a tip: just make two presets that change the volume by +/- 10db, and apply to two different tracks. You'll be able to easily hear if one track is much louder than the other, and then you'll know.
What I don't understand is what the drawbacks are.
This has been discussed a lot over the years by a lot of people. Most recently by me in this post in the equalizer improvements thread:

Looks like it is not working. I made a preset with +10dB and one with -10dB, changed the [DSP] of one track to one and another to the second. When I played them they were at the exact same volume level. Bummer

Did you try it on a regular zone (not DLNA), to make sure you were doing it right?
