Title: Track timings on edited files
Post by: billinrio on January 27, 2021, 08:49:03 am
On tracks of "live" symphonic recordings that I have imported into MediaCenter and then edited with Audacity in order to remove between-movement audience noise, the resulting file timings remain unchanged.  For example, if the original track was 9 minutes long, and 15 seconds less than that after my edit, MediaCenter insists on showing the original timing of 9 minutes rather than the actual timing of 8:45. How does the program determine the timings? How can I get it to show the actual edited timings?

MC just reads the file [Duration] when it imports it, it doesn't keep checking if the file changed.
You can do "Library Tools -> Update Library (from tags)" to have MC re-read the file properties. "Analyze Audio" should also work, but might take longer.
