Hello:
I just installed mc .0.59 and to my surprise,
is freezing.
Tax collector, 1917 uhds and even 1080p mkvs all froze.
I played via JRiver for Android, I noticed same issue.
I played via MO4media, with exoplayer,Kodi, and vlc , same thing.

Freeze during playback on your linux box? Weird, I don't think anything has changed in video playback yet (though there are some changes coming).
I'll give it a try.

Around December of 2020, I experienced serious freezing ,stop and go type on 0.37,0.38, then I back pedaled to 27.0.20.
Everything was smooth again
Even JRiver for android played smooth even with Dolby vision.
Now, I installed 0.59, the mkv playback is freezing again.
Though the freezing is not as pronounced as when I had 0.37,0.38 version.
This is my new goliathlinux server box .
This server has 128 gig of memory.
Nothing should slow it down.
I am anxiously waiting these changes
As you know, I am an old man, all i have as a hobby is MC. smile on this.
MC going forward will have multi session capability so that family members can log in at same time.
