For several versions of the beta MC9 has lost the ability to stream from Shoutcast (MP3). The warning "please select file(s) to play" always displays.
-
I stream from Shoutcast.com daily with no problems (using MC)....So, not sure why you wouldn't be able to.
Listening to: 'Metallica - Battery' on Media Center 9.0 from http://64.236.34.141:80/stream/1039/~~~stream~~~.mp3 [Chronix Agressive] or http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=8086&file=filename.pls

geo,
Can you give us a link to shoutcast stream you are trying to play?
I just tried 10 streams from www.shoutcast.com and they all worked.

I have problems with any link in this format. I can run these on an early beta of MC9 I have on another machine. Both machines are behind the same firewall.
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=2529&file=filename.pls
or
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=9313&file=filename.pls

These both work for me, using MC 9.0.146.

I'm getting the same problem. The same error is being displayed "please select file(s) to play" ?
When I paste the same link into "windows media player" it works. This is the link I'm using: mms://mediastreaming.cybernet.be/contactnl
I'm now using version 9.0.145 under windows Me, same version under wind. XP but problem persists.
It used to work with "Media Jukebox 8.0"
Help !

Mr.Cluster,
MMS is a separate problem and will be fixed in next build.
geo,
Both links that you provided work for me.
Can anybody else reproduce the problem?
In any case, try new build (9.0.147)

The links work here also on B146. Nice stations.
Note: Shift-Insert doesn't work on Open Stream File dialog box

I just loaded build 147 and no fix. I bit the bullet and loaded 147 on my home system that streamed the links but was a very early beta. It caused my home system to have the same problem. I am running XP on both and behind a router firewall. Could the two builds have a different reaction to a firewall? I was wrong about the format because I am streaming Radio Paradise just fine from shoutcast with link:
http://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/shoutcast-playlist.pls?rn=866&file=filename.pls

These both work for me, using MC 9.0.146.
not in Real One
Maybe In Real Player 8 it will work.
