Title: Reinstall using library back up

My copy of MC27 intermittently shows a 'not responding' message so I want to delete, reinstall and reimport my music using a saved library. Is there an idiots guide to do this fully including a manual back up before deleting ?
Any problems or issues I should be aware of ?

You could start with this:  https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Library_Backup

try to do a File>Library>Backup Library then reinstall and restore library from the same place.

You may want to keep the settings option unchecked to troubleshoot if it hangs again after a restore.

What version are you running?  Did you try the Latest at the top of this board?
