Title: Silicon Mini Thunderbold to DAC and Video Question
Post by: Manfred on February 27, 2021, 04:09:15 am
Silicon Mini: I have a few questions:

- Is it possible to route the Audio through Silicon Mini Thunderbold out to a USB-B DAC port?
- If yes: Are there any sample rate limitations?
- If yes: Is DSD over DOP possible up to DSD 256?
- Has any one tried MC Video playback on new Silicon Mini and does it work?

What would you do that with? Is there a thunderbolt to USB adapter?
I have an iFi iDSD nano attached to the Mac mini silicon USB port and it works great at all sample rates the DAC supports.

It was more a presales question.

To formulate it differently:
Can one use a USB-C to USB-B cable from silicon mac mini thunderbold port to a DAC with USB-B port?

Hello - first time poster and recent JRiver on Mac mini silicon fan.  I use USB-C / thunderbolt on my new mini to connect to my NAD M51 DAC USB-B port using an Audioquest cable - "AudioQuest Cinnamon USB B to C Cable - 2.46 ft. (0.75m)" that's the description on Amazon.  Works great for audio/DAC, but I can't speak for video...
