Title: Multiple Files Locations
Post by: voogy on March 11, 2021, 10:47:55 am
Hiya, Not sure if the right area to post but hey ho!

I have a big CD collection which has been transferred to external hard drive in FLAC format. The problem is every time I open JR  I seem to have file locations and multiple identical songs. For example:

I have one location that is correct and is the external drive. Then I have and http://192.111.1 for example  for the same track. Both play fine. Sometimes the http version appears multiple times, I've seen 8 lines of the http track before! They are always together never randomly spaced.

Any ideas???

You are probably importing the same library twice by two different means:

1. By importing the files directly from a file share
2. By importing the library from another DLNA Digital Media Server

Solution: turn off the DMS and cancel 2.

In the tree at the top left of MC ‘Playing Now’ you will see the loaded libraries. Click on that to see the command options.

Having the same problem.  How do I tell JRiver 27 to use hard drive (E) for music files, But IGNORE music files on hard drive (C)?  Thanks, Rob

You do it by going to MC's Options > Run auto-import in background then selecting Configure auto-import. From there only add the folders you want and manually run an import.

If your library already has files from C: you might need to clear the library first and uncheck the "Ignore files previously removed from library" option in the import options.
