Or maybe 13.
I started thinking today, when I saw that big screen flat panel TV display prices are expected to drop near the end of the year, that.....
We could make a very cool "virtual reality" room by putting one of those on the end wall and one on either side at about 20 degrees from the first.
Sort of like this:

you are
here
OK, I know it's a bad drawing, but imagine sitting with a big screen in front and a couple big ones filling your peripheral vision.
Now we get Phydeaux to visit all the famous places in [name the continent] and take 360 degree pictures.
Then we put these all together for display, so you can tip your head to the right and see one of the pyramids of Egypt and if you tip it still further, you see the guy trying to sell Phydeaux pictures.
In other words, a library of pictures (maybe videos) could be displayed in a coordinated way on three screens and you could move around in each place.
Remember, this room would cost about what your four year old car is worth. But you might not need to buy another car.
And then, there's gaming.

OK, thanks. I'm OK now.

JimH,
this is something I am trying to do now :D No wonder it does not work the way I want it :'(

How about this instead...
Have a chip implanted in your forehead that tells MC where to point the holographic projectors. No need to worry about them there spend-ee TV screens. Of course, the holographic projector might cost as much as Reagan era star wars defense budget. But just think, you could watch re-runs of Green Acres while walking up the steps. Hmm, maybe not such a good idea to be walking.

this is real in "Mark Farmers World", but i have 2 of them and both have a small C4 charge in them.
now if someone robs a bank or kills someone a computer controled device will sence this and blow the charge.
then the Body Removal Department (B.R.D.) will be dispatched to that location to remove the body.
your death will be logged for population control numbers.

I just use beer. It's easier to get nowadays.

Three very BIG screens...
Would be great for gaming like Flight Sim.

I wish I still had the bookmark but we had one AVID car racing nut on AVS...
He used 3 digital projectors to provide a front and 2 side view for racing games and built up his seat with pedals / steering wheel etc in the middle...
This was down in a basement and with a 5.1 soundsystem... it doesn't get much more immersive than that !!!
I have seen a few Davis SVGA projectors go in the 700 - 1k mark in the last year... 3 of those at 3k or so total and although pricey it is cheaper than I would have guessed for a vitual room type affair...
