Title: Flag (Mark) To Stop File from Showing As Possible Duplicate
Post by: WillT59 on March 18, 2021, 02:29:09 pm
Running the smart list / task / possible duplicates ...

Is there anyway to flag files so they will not appear in this list?

Song name is the same, but appears on multiple albums results in entries on possible duplicate list. Same of course if two different artists perform the song. It makes for a lot of wasted time having to see the same tracks over and over. The only fix that I can see and it would not be simple would be to rename the tracks in someway. Hopefully, there is a way to mark the files.

Any suggestions for fixing this appreciated.

That smartlist is a simple tool.

But you are free to modify it.

You could create a new field called "Not Duplicate", and put a value in it for every file that you want to flag. Then modify the smartlist to exclude files that have that value in that field.  Or you could put something in the comment field of every file you want to flag, and modify the smartlist to exclude files that have that in the comment.  A bit of googling for "jriver add field" and "jriver edit smartlist" will give you articles that tell you what you need to know.
