Title: CD playback & rip suddenly doesn't work

Hi!

I have this issue with multiple regular audio CDs: they all work with my stereo fine.  They even work perfectly on my PC (windows 10 up to date) with PowerDVD!

But once I try to use them with JRiver, it cannot read nor rip them. The software tries to read each track but I only get a weird sound and it skips to the next track.

Any suggestion?

Antivirus?  Or another program taking control?

I have no antivirus. What do you mean by another program "taking control"?

I closed other media software susceptible to run the CD and still produces the same result.

On Win10 you are running Windows Defender.

I did what's mentioned there, did not help.
