Title: System Configuration
Post by: Day Radebaugh on April 26, 2021, 01:52:33 pm
Am considering JRiver as an alternative to Roon.  I was streaming Roon+Tidal to an Ayre QX-5 DAC/streamer, which is on my LAN, but have abandoned Roon.  Other than streaming, most of my music is on a NAS connected to my LAN.  I want to run JRiver on my Macbook, using the library management to play the CD's ripped to my NAS, as well as stream to my QX-5 which is part of a larger audio system.
In particular, would like to know whether I can stream from the Macbook playing JRiver to the QX-5 streamer.  The QX-5 has the Conversdigital chip which supports Roon, Tidal, Spotify and so on via UPnP.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

There is a 30 day free trial, without any restrictions. So feel free to try it.

If your device supports UPnP / DLNA, it should work.

For what it's worth, I was able to get Stream What You Hear going from Macbook to DAC, which I believe relies on the same arrangement.  Wasn't easy, but eventually got it going.
