Title: What about translations-support?BEFORE GOING GOLD?
Post by: Raistlin2000 on April 04, 2003, 11:16:44 pm
Just one thing I thought about should be really added to MC9.0 before going gold: a translations-support, so that MC can be used in different languages.

This should be done using normal txt-files or encrypted dll-files (so that only authorized translators can write such files, avoiding crazy people writing stupid translations using "bad" words)

I would offer myself as translator for German & French.

I really think this should be included already in 9.0, NOT in 9.1 or 10.0.

Almost every new program starting with version-numbers below 1.0 offer this, isn't it a shame that MC doesn't do so even up to version 9??

Anybody who thinks that this should be done for MC9, please post here: More people requesting > Better chance to see it soon  ;)

Thanks
Raist

I would agree, except that I'm very happy with an english version! Perhaps, though, we can have an English version of Media CentRE rather than an American version of Media CentER... :) I offer my services as an English translator!

(I don't mean to suggest that Americans do not speak English, they just don't write it!). ;D

I second that, but let them get MC9.0 out!

J River is now running in "Bug-Fix" mode :) Once MC9 is out, they can switch again to "Add-Features" mode >:( after a well deserved "Holiday" mode interval ;D

I can do the Ebonic (aka jive) version.

Here's a translation of MJ's start page...

To stay sharp on the language, I usually practice on MC's latest build page. Here's the translation on B143...

1. Fixed, dig dis: "Playback Opshuns..." on de playback opshuns / filta' menu wuz not wo'kin'.
2. Fixed, dig dis: Explo'a' right-click menu integrashun icon fo' MC had fusia-colo'ed edges.
3. Fixed, dig dis: "Seq" column in "Recently Played" had non-sense numbers in it. Man!
4. Changed, dig dis: Selecshun and scroll posishun gots'ta only be saved / resto'ed when usin' fo'ward and back navigashun -- not always.
5. Fixed, dig dis: Tooltip anomaly dat could gots accounted fo' rare crashes durin' regular GUI use.
6. NEW: Media Serva' now suppo'ts TiVo Crib Media Opshun (http://www.tivo.com/4.9.asp)

Say what?

I'm not saying these translations are the most "up to date" stylings in Ebonics, just that they were the current "state of the art" when I was learning the language. I try to keep up but it moves SO fast.

Written Ebonics is not about correct spelling....it is more of a guideline for correct pronunciation. This should be clear to all my homeys here when looking at the definition => Ebonics = Ebony + Phonics

Peace out
