Here, I posted about a year ago about an issue with the Blu-ray of Nine Inch Nail's "Beside You in Time." Watching the Blu-Ray straight or from a backup still has the artifacts mentioned, while playing an MKV of the performance works fine. Issue is though, there are two angles on certain songs and another show on the disc. So, for this one Blu-Ray, you'd have to have three MKVs to get the full experience. Any update on getting this fixed?

Multi angle disc are complicated as they have multiple video streams ... most likely implemented as branching ... similar to discs with multiole version of movie.
These can be badly mastered ... one of Totat Recall 2012 version comes to mind ... audio video glitches every time there is branching.
MakeMKV can remove some audio video glitches due to sync issues by removing video frames ... which result in smoother playback ... but in case of that particular Total Recall version ... video glitches were gone but there were still audiable glitches due to bad mastering.
So ... if disc was mastered badly ... nothing much can be done.
MKV theoretically supports branching ... but it is not implemented by any player ... as i understsnd, due to security issues.
Personally ... for multi version movies on one disc ... i have 2 mkvs ... just hate disc menus
In your case ... you can break up mkv by songs ... then only have to have 2 version of certain songs

After searching a bit on this ... seems Xin1generator can make multi branching mkvs ... https://www.videohelp.com/software/Xin1Generator
MC should be able to handle those as Lav filter should handle it ... https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=156191&page=729
So my apology for wronhly stating that ordered chapters mkv were not playable (was looking at this solution long ago and abandon it due to lack of support at the time ... might investigate this further if have time)

I'd really prefer to just play the disc, honestly :-\

Does your bluray player (not PC) play it without artifacts? If it does not, likely the disc was badly mastered. And as i mention before, nothing much you can do about it ... makemkv can smooth things out, but it has its limits.

I have multiple Blu-ray players that play it without issue. I can also play the disc backup perfectly fine through VLC.

Are glitches always appearing at the same time in video (ie at particular scene)?

I'm looking into this, but i'm not quite sure yet where the problem is.
Is this happening with more then one disc, for us to compare those discs?

I think it's just this one disc. I haven't had issues with any of my other Blu-Rays
This also occurs on JRiver 28 as well. Should I make a thread there too?

Nah this one is fine
