Title: MC28 not using MC27 library and settings

I must be doing this incorrectly. Since about MC17 I have configured:
Tools - Options - File Locations
and
File - Library - Configure Auto-Import
to point to folders on a Synology NAS and then delete any locations on the local PC. Then each upgrade, including MC28, sets all these to local PC drives and imports lots of local unwanted stuff into the library. So I manually edit "File Locations" and "Auto-Import, clear the library and reimport from the NAS.

JimH advises "On Windows, MC will find your library and settings from your previous version and use them.  Improvements to this process have been made, so thumbnails and custom skins, etc. are transferred" What am I doing wrong?

Back up in MC27.  Restore the backup in MC28.
