I'm not sure how many people create them for themselves, but me, I have quite a lot of panes views that, with nothing selected, list all media types. One of the panes, usually the first, is a "Media Type" pane.
The only annoyance with these views is trying to get the list columns right. I basically have to include every column I might ever need, and put up with the empty redundancy when the list is filtered down to, say, photos, which have pretty much zero need for 99% of the columns needed for audio.
We have an automatic list style option already, how much would folk appreciate automatic list columns, I wonder?
I was thinking...
Keep everything as it is, but add an option to the "Customise View" dialogue that would activate automatic list columns, and another to configure the automation.
The list columns could be configured in a similar fashion to the tag window...
Audio Columns
Video Columns
Image Columns
Everything Else Columns
Would that even be an achievable thing?
Would anyone else find that useful?
