Title: Library Sync - Confused
Post by: donlboy on July 24, 2021, 04:34:23 pm
I understand that Library Sync only syncs the Library files, not the media files. I am confused by the statement at the top of the Sync Library dialog “Library sync lets you copy files from another PC”. This could just mean the Library files, but the next section of this dialog has a section “File Locations”, listing locations for each type of MEDIA file.  Also, when I tried Library Sync on test libraries between two machines (I initiated it from #1) the process started copying media files to the folder on #2 listed in “File Locations”. I have not been able to find much at all about Sync Library or Library Server Sync, and nothing at all about the “File Locations” section.

This is with MC 27.0.85 on both machines.

Not Library Sync, but if you connect one copy of MC to another, the client can download files from the server.  Right click on a file or files to begin.

Any idea how/why this happens when starting Library Sync? It copied a few hundred media files before I noticed it.
