The new 20 band equalizer sounds bad to me (Rock Preset).
So how can I enable the old 10 band equalizer?
-
You cannot, the same equalizer was simply expanded to 20 bands.
Perhaps share some details about your experience, and Matt can look into it if something is going wrong?
-
Instead of sounding like most rock equalizers I heard, it sounds like an equalizer for another type of music, it sounds as if all mids are 90% gone.
-
If you start with all the sliders at zero and move one at a time does it point to anything? Also make sure you're using the latest MC28 because there were a couple bugs at first
-
Version: 28.0.44
Yes all of them move and the preset changes to Custom
-
I think I reproduced this. The effect is different now because it's doubling-up. Let us think for a while.
-
I'm making the sliders affect half as wide of a frequency range in the next build. It should make presets match a lot better.
Thanks for the prod!

After trying the new build, still sounds way way different than the original 10 band rock preset.
The bass is gone. Maybe the problem is the preset by itself.
After testing other Equalizers (MusicBee), when choosing rock preset it gets reduced to 10 band, if I then choose 15 band, the music sound starts to sound weaker.
-
It won't be exactly the same since there are twice the bands. But it was pretty close in my tests now.
-
Try the equalizer that Media Center 25.0.114 has, there you will hear the difference.
-
It would be better to see exactly what you have set. A pic of the equaliser settings would help. You can also play full range link noise (use the ones provided by jriver) and take a pic of the analyser while it is playing, repeat with the old build.
-
Remember that v25 uses different frequencies for the curve. We tuned them based on user suggestions.
Then we doubled the number.
So it's not an apples to apples comparison.

Thanks for the advice, after checking both (old and current) I was able to create my "fixed" preset, now it sounds as it should.
