Title: Copy & Paste Cover Art - Does It Work?
Post by: iCamp on March 30, 2003, 08:41:36 am
What am I doing wrong?

I select an audio file (or group of them) then set the Properties pane to cover art.

I then scan my hard drive for the jpg file I want associated with the selected audio file.  I copy that jpg, go back to the Properties pane with in MC, right click and select "Paste from clipboard (Image or URL)".

And...nothing happens.  Why?

I know I can select "Add" from Properties and navigate to the jpg but if I can simply copy & paste it would be a LOT faster.

Does this work for you?

Seems to work for me. Located the image in the appropriate folder, right clicked, selected 'Copy', then inserted it from the Clipboard as an 'Image File' in the Properties view. (Is this what you mean when you say you set Properties pane to Cover Art?)

The path to the image then appears in the proper field, and the image itself appears both in the thumbnail/mouseover and in Playing Now/Display Images.

Is anything at all appearing in your Properties/Images field after you select copy from clipboard?

HTH

Nope. Nothing.
I can copy and paste these same images within other windows apps but MC seems to ignore them.

I guess I'll post my sytem info too...

Any update on this?
I posted it on the weekend so I don't know how many people saw it.  Just wanted to bump it up to see if this is a bug or if it's something else.

Thanks

Right now, "Cover Art Paste" accepts a text path / URL or a graphic bitmap.  It doesn't support the CF_FILE clipboard format that you're trying to use.

Maybe in a future version. Thanks!

Thanks Matt!

I'll look forward to this added down the road (perhaps).
