Title: DLNA renderer confusion

Great day all,

My apologies if the question has been answered before.
I've read the wiki's, asked Mr Google and others :-)

When adding an audio DLNA renderer like Sonore, would it be able to 'replace' the direct USB connection from MC's pov ?
I tend to believe we would be able to stream/push all audio related files to the renderer.
What confuses me are some posts which do mention video and audio can't be split-up by DLNA when playing an AV file, like any movie or TV program.

Fyi, my LR set-up contains of a 4k display fed by an active (fiber) DisplayPort and a DAC/Pre-amp, using a long active USB cable.
All AV files are onto a NAS inside an isolated storage as also a PC machine running packages p.e. MC with feed both the DisplayPort (GTX1080) and the DAC via USB.

The goal would be adding the Sonore into the livingroom setup (network) to feed all audio played into MC -> DAC and skipping the noisy USB run. SQ should be gaining by doing such.

Thanks Andrew, but prior purchasing such an unit i prefer to be advised if such an DLNA implementation would work vs MC.

In case such a DLNA audio renderer can't be set as a dedicated audio output device in MC, like USB does, and so potentially can't direct the audio trace of p.e. a movie then it's waste of money don't you agree ?

The more posts and wiki's I'm reading the more confusing it gets.

Fyi I'm a happy and long time user of MC: 50% pure audio, 25% movies, 20% television, 5% photos.

Ah. Sorry but I wrongly interpreted your prior message that you already have a Sonore..

Dear Andrew, no problem, thanks for your reaction.

Hard to believe no one else looked at a DLNA/network solution to just stream all audio traces handled within MC, independent from the video part.

Should someone tried or figured a way out before, would be great to find out :-)
