Title: Questions about Version 28 Installation and "Views"
Post by: Skeezix on August 10, 2021, 03:31:59 pm
I installed MC version 28 on top of version 21 and then ran version 28 for awhile. What I checked appeared to be good. Three days later I uninstalled version 21. Now I am having problems with the views that I save while using version 21.

Right now I have a J River folder in C:\Program Files (x86). There is no such folder in C:\Program Files.

Installation Question: Why did MC install itself in C:\Program Files (x86) and not in C:\Program Files?

In C:\Program Files (x86) J River\Media Center 28\Data\Saved Views I only have the these files, none of which I created:

   8  "Audio - ...jvi"
   3  "Data - ...jvi"
   1  "Image -...jvi"
   1  "Video -...jvi"

In C:\Users\ME\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 21\Library\Saved Views I only have these files:

"20181002 Clay's Audio View.jvi". Used this in version 21 to view all 10,000 of my files.
"My New Playlist View.jvi". Used this in version 21 to view my playlists.
"My Playlist View 190119.jvi". Also used this in version 21 to view my playlists.

My C:\Users\ME\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 28\Library\Saved Views contains the same files as in ...Media Center 21\Library\Saved Views. See the image below.

When I open MC 28 and look at my listing of Playlists, I can see "2021 Playlists", so I assume that it gets that information from the Media Center 21 folder. And after I created another view and saved it as "My Playlist Presets ver 28", I cannot find that view anywhere on my disk.

View Question: In version 28, how can I assign "20181002 Clay's Audio View.jvi" to be my view?
