Title: Playlist of Streaming Youtube Items
Post by: David Sydney on August 16, 2021, 07:01:03 am
Hi there I am trying to replicated my old VHS music video mix tapes that I used to record one song at a time off Rage or video hits.

When streaming on the Youtube I used to see the following dialog box allowing me to open the you tube feed in the native player. Then allowing my only when in the playing now list, to add the item to a new playlist. Stand alone when you create a new playlist you have to drag files to it, or send a file to the playlist on the context menu. This does not work when trying to add a streaming item like youtube. Now I know you can copy a link of the Youtube item and paste it to provide a link but Playlist don't seem to have a way to accept this? In version MC28 I only seem to see that dialog on random occasions - not sure how to get repeatedly?

This is not the complete story, because when I did previously get a Youtube URL from the player into the playlist it worked ok for about 2 days then it expired. I thought moving to MC28, with Edge Webview where I can now sign in to the youtube channel, it would solve the problem, but alas not. Looking at previous Youtube URLs they are hugely complex and I can see some kind of expiry in there? Such as the following quoted below;

This problem has mutliple hurdles but in concept seems very simple requirement. Has anyone else tried this, or got it to work?
