Title: Delete Files (completely) - "Warning" has stopped coming up
Post by: FenceFurniture on August 22, 2021, 07:59:14 pm
I don't know if there is a box to check to "Don't show this warning again" when deleting files completely, but I am no longer getting a warning that "this cannot be undone". Presumably if there is such a box to check then I must have done so accidentally because I never get rid of such warnings deliberately.

Is there a way to restore the warning please?

It's in the settings somewhere.  Try using the search window on the Options page.  Maybe near "tooltips".

I've looked through everything I can, and done a number of searches on the Options page, with no luck. At the simplest level:
searching for "Warning" reveals nothing useful, and
"Delete" talks about Podcasts.
Searching for "Tooltips" - Show track info tooltips.
"Settings" leads to "Advanced - reset window position settings (whatever that might mean).

If it is in the settings somewhere, then it's well hidden.

Try Options > General > Advanced > Reset all confirmation messages...

Try Options > General > Advanced > Reset all confirmation messages...
Yes, that's it Matt, thank you. It's a bit tricky testing that though...what if that is not the solution...the files are gone forever. So I made a duplicate of the folder first.

And now that it's back I can see how crazy easy it is to inadvertently swipe click "Do not show again" on the way to clicking "Yes", esp if using a pen+tablet as I do, rather than a mouse.

TBH, it should not be an option to get rid of that warning at all, and I know that has been raised before in at least one other thread. I'll wager that most people don't have backups (or regular backups) of their music files, so it could be a disaster. Even though my collection is around 3 TB it is all backed up and updated exceptionally regularly. (multiple times a day if I am doing a lot of updating).
