Title: Upgrade needs to not require user interaction
Post by: atc98092 on August 24, 2021, 10:07:15 pm
I had a brief power failure early this morning. Yes, I need to get some additional UPSs so the computer stays up. But when it restarted, it wanted to install an MC update. Of course, it sat there on the user acceptance window, waiting for permission to install. I missed at least one scheduled recording because MC wasn't running. I generally log into that computer (using VNC) later in the afternoon to check things out, so I missed the fact it wasn't running.

My immediate solution was to disable automatic updates. I don't like that option, as I prefer my software remain up to date. Many other software products can update themselves without triggering the UAC window. Is it absolutely a necessity to require admin permission to update MC?
