Title: Disabling Contextual Menu in Title Bar
Post by: sarcanon on September 11, 2021, 10:59:43 am
Hello.

There is a contextual menu that pops up every time I click in the title bar of the application. It has nine items that appear to allow for UI customization, e.g. "Show Spectrum Analyzer Left", etc. Frankly I find this menu annoying, as I click back and forth between Media Center and other applications often, and I'm constantly having to click away to dismiss this menu. I've tried looking through the Options dialog for some way to disable it, but see nothing relevant. Might anyone know if there is a way to disable this menu?

Many thanks in advance.

Running v. 28.0.49 on Windows 64-bit.

That's what you would see if you right clicked there.

Actually, I get the contextual menu by left clicking only. Right-clicking also opens the menu, but that behavior is fine and to be expected. It's the menu showing up by left-clicking only that I find to be a problem.

What does the right button do when you click. Have you checked your windows settings, additional mouse options you have not switched them around?

No. Simply left click on your own MC player display area at the top of the program in standard view and you will see exactly what sarcanon is describing.

I'm sure I'm not alone in having learned where it is safe to click to dismiss an unwanted menu, after clearing the search field, for example, and would have no issue at all if the player bar display options were restricted to just the right mouse button. It's always felt a little odd that both buttons activate the menu that you would more traditionally associate with the right mouse button.

That's a bug.  We'll fix it.

If you click at the top, no menu shows.  If you click on the text line (down from the top), we do show the same menu as right-click.  The thinking was that we wanted the menu to be hard to miss.

Let me know if this matches what you're seeing.  Thanks.

This exactly matches what I am seeing. And, if this behavior could be controlled by a preference, that would be appreciated. I don't ever want the contextual menu triggered by a left click.

Thank you!

Coming next build:
Changed: Removed left-click handling from the text area of the program.  Only right-click shows the menu now.

Thanks.
