Title: Analyze for HDCD
Post by: Vocalpoint on August 23, 2021, 10:04:43 am
Matt

Just moved to v28 about 10 days ago and noticed the the HDCD flag is consistently set to -1 - even AFTER an audio analysis.

I do have a stopgap assigned when I import FLAC tracks to my staging area - I have MC force a 0 into the HDCD field but I am wondering if something has changed in the detection logic with v28 vs v27 - it always would set the flag to zero (if the track is naturally not HDCD.)

Always happy to enjoy an HDCD track but I suspect that something else is going on here - I cannot see how any downloaded (Like from ProStudioMasters) or ripped tracks (from my CDs) would be HDCD these days.

Wondering if anyone else noticed the same - or maybe I am missing a setting somewhere.

Cheers

Double-check Options > Library & Folders > Audio Analysis > Analyze for HDCD

Double-check Options > Library & Folders > Audio Analysis > Analyze for HDCD

Thanks! It was unchecked.

Q: Is that a new option in v28?

I do not remember if that was available in v27. I suspect it is new as I restored my existing v27 library to use as base for the initial v28 install - and if that was an option in v27 - I would have expected that setting to transfer over when restoring a backup.

Appreciate any further info.

Cheers
