Title: How to get tagging pane back to grouped view?
Post by: mattkhan on September 14, 2021, 02:50:15 am
On one of my MC instances, the tagging pane shows a simple flat list of fields with no filter or grouping into sections. The same view on another instance shows the grouping. I can't find a setting which controls this. How do I change it back (to the grouped view with a filter)?

I wonder if you've accidentally switched to the old, legacy tag window...

Try closing the tag window, then hold down the shift key and click on "Tag" in the action window...

Is that better? If not, repeat to at least get back to where you were.

thanks, that did the trick. Is shift click the only way to switch between these views?

As far as I am aware, yes.

You shift click once, and it stays that way until you shift click again to toggle it back.

Ok thanks, slightly obtuse UX there  :)

IIRC, there was some discussion around the new simply replacing the old, with the eventual feeling being that some could be more than a little upset if that happened. This solution was put in place in an attempt to keep everyone happy.

To be fair, over the years, JRiver have been very good at this, despite it being a little bit of a thankless task :)

I just mean the essentially undocumented use of shift click, if it is a permanent feature then seems better to make it an explicit option
