This was discussed some time ago....
When importing, tags in the library specified as "Save in file tags (when Possible)" do not automatically write to the physical files.

To work around, the user has to initiate some process that will cause the library to update the physical files. In my case I usually analyze the files afterward, and this triggers the update to disk.
If this is working as expected, perhaps an additional option on the import that specifies "write tags to the files", and clarifies what is happening?
