Title: Cloudplay streaming speed
Post by: carlos09 on October 09, 2021, 11:55:30 am
Hello,

I use MC28 on my PC and also i have an Id with MC27. I use many times Cloudplay as it is great and high quality.
BUT, i have many times a streaming speed problem that stops the play to buffer the data, play....stop buffering....play.....stops buffering etc...
At the moment i have these download speed issues have checked the following:
my internet download speed is 10 Mb/s
i have my PC and the Id connected to internet by the wired network
My PC task manager indicates very low speed of cloudplay download. Less than 1Mb/s and very unstable.
But the download speed of a streaming video (TV replay) is up to 10Mb/s and stable.

May i check some other things?
Thank you for your help and answer.
Carlos

Your connection speed is probably limited.  In MC's settings for Cloudplay, you can specify what the maximum bitrate to play is.  MC will then skip those and above.

I think he's asking why the difference in download speeds between streaming videos and Cloudplay.

I don't think the Cloudplay server is normally slow.

ISP's can manipulate speeds and speed tests.

Different parts of the globe can be different.

I think he's asking why the difference in download speeds between streaming videos and Cloudplay.
That's normal.  Video uses much more bandwidth.

48Khz / 16 bit audio uses about 1 Mb/second.  People have uploaded some much higher resolution files.

He is reporting that video is fine at 10 Mbps but audio is buffering at a much slower speed.

That is not normal.

Hi all,
i come back after having a deep check by the provider. They don't understand why the audio download is limited. My speed is stable at 10Mb/s.

This afternoon as i had very low speed for cloudplay stream (< 1Mb/s), i switched to my Amazon Music account and listen to HR music with no problem. The download speed was over 2Mb/s with peaks up to 8Mb/s.(I use a BlueSound Node )
I switched back to cloudplay with the same speed issue.

Hi all,
i just read the mail about MC30 improvements and the roaming capability of cloudplay. Cloudplay its really fantastic, and coupled to Play doctor is magic.
But the speed issue here in France for cloudplay is still present.
I would like to also benefit from this fantastic tool .
Please contact Amazon to check the flow speed policy that apply to french customers.
Please do it for your customers.
Thanks
Carlos

There are lots of places it could be limited, but it's unlikely to be Amazon.

If you're on a mobile connection, please talk with the telephone company.

Is it the same problem when you're on your own Wi-Fi?
