Chico;
Glad you brought this up.
I have been wondering about something concerning kX Project drivers.
I had tried the previous version but ran into a problem of a frequency mismatch between 44,100 & 48,000 Hz when using ASIO. When I set both kX & MC9 DSP to 48,000 Hz music sounded tinny especially any piano attacks & of course ASIO will only work on 48,000 Hz.
Matt said there was a problem with MC9 & it should be corrected soon.
However, I was wondering if there is any advantage to using the kX drivers without ASIO at 44,100 Hz?
Any thoughts?

I'm just a simple user, not a huge audio buff like a lot of you guys.
I tried this but gave it up as it wasn't sending the sound to the correct outputs on my card (sb live 5.1)
As soon as I reinstalled the Creative Drivers it worked fine again.
Are there any big advantages of using it for an average person like me who just likes to listen to music and isn't a huge buff?

Nila,
Not really. ASIO's most apparent advantage (from a spec standpoint) is that it bypasses windows components that could negatively affect sound quality. Plus I think it handles multi-channels better. It was originally created for music creation / MIDI (like CakeWalk) because Windows imposed too much latency on the sound stream when doing real time mixing and also when controlling external devices (like MIDI instruments).
