Title: Slow internet workaround.
Post by: ah693973 on November 19, 2021, 01:38:07 pm
I am going to be stuck with slow internet for a few months. Trying to use my remote music collection with the Panel HTML and then the cloud and/or streaming within JRiver proper on my laptop is frustrating.

I would be fine if I could load a whole song before playback but they play for a while and then stop in the middle of the song is the worst. I have tried both the "load full file" commands in the audio options (when using JRiver program) and that does not seem to apply to downloaded songs. Any way to force a full download of a song before playback starts?

How about buying a small external drive (SSD or HDD) or even use an old drive in an external SATA -> USB enclosure if necessary.  That's the fastest, easiest, most reliable (if you carry a backup drive as well) network fix I know of.  Yeah, if your media collection is gargantuan, then you may have to sacrifice and down-select.
